What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from June 2024. ERO found outcomes for students becoming more equitable while staying at a high level.
Students, including Māori and Pacific learners, continued to do very well in NCEA Levels 1 to 3 and University Entrance, most Year 9 and 10 students were at or above national expectations in literacy and numeracy, and regular attendance was above national averages.
ERO also noted students’ strong connection to the school, stronger reporting and evaluation within curriculum areas, and Māori and Pacific strategic plans developed with learners, whānau, hapū and iwi.
The school’s next steps are to keep mentoring curriculum leaders, especially new ones, to strengthen evaluation, and to use curriculum area reports to shape strategic planning, while monitoring attendance, retention, NCEA results, scholarships and the progress of priority learners.

Enrolling
Students who live in the home zone are entitled to enrol. Out-of-zone places are offered under the enrolment scheme in priority order, starting with siblings of current students, and by ballot when there are more applicants than places.
Enrolment is online or through the school office, and the school publishes its Year 9 closing dates and a list of in-zone streets on its enrolment pages. Year 9 entrance scholarships are also offered by application.
